People think that because I’m a Buddhist teacher, I must be very balanced, mindful, and fearless. But that is not the case at all — because if I were, I wouldn’t need to practice! It’s exactly because I have anger, hatred, greed, impatience, and fear — like all human beings — that I’ve committed so much time and effort to my practice and my path.
That’s why I’m inviting all of you to join me at Steady, Calm, and Brave, a twice-monthly meditation designed to help you develop your capacity for wisdom and love to bring healing, compassion, and community to the world. Because what we all really need right now is you—we need everyone to engage our hearts and connect with our good sense and compassionate nature, and share it with others.
At each 30 minute session, we’ll strengthen our intention to benefit and not-harm ourselves and our communities, learn to cultivate kindness and patience, even for our enemies, and use our determination to stay balanced and grounded even in the midst of difficulty. I’ll offer guided meditation, and share traditional techniques to fortify our understanding, love, and mindfulness.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming Steady, Calm, and Brave sessions: Sunday 7/13 at 9am, Tuesday 7/29 at 9pm, Saturday 8/16 at 9am, Thursday 8/28 at 9pm, Sunday 9/14 at 9am, Wednesday 9/24 at 9pm.
These small group Zoom meetings are open to all Paid Members. No RSVP is required. Times are EST. I’ll share the zoom link via email a few hours before each event so you can join as you like. Sessions will not be recorded, because it’s important that we gather together to support each other, to remind ourselves that we are not alone in our endeavors, and to recognize that we are, in fact, part of a global human lineage of love and clarity from the past, the present, and the future.

Friends, it’s hard to watch and even harder to understand what’s happening right now, and I’m absolutely sure that the world doesn’t need anymore hatred, anger, graspingness or division. May we use our wisdom in each and every moment, to say and do what is kind, clear, and beneficial to ourselves and the world. May you be safe and protected from inner and outer dangers. May it be so!
Metta+++,
