Take Five 🌳 #2
A Moment of Mindfulness for Busy (and Not-So Busy) People
In this new regular feature, I’ll share a brief wisdom teaching from Buddhism, contemporary culture or other traditions and you can use it to take a brief break whenever you need it.
This week’s teaching includes quote from Octavia E. Butler, from her book, The Parable of the Sower, with a photograph of a young swallowtail butterfly. Please follow the Take Five instructions:
Set a timer for five minutes.
Read the words, view the image, then close your computer screen.
Stop engaging with your devices.
Sit quietly with your eyes closed or your gaze lowered. Bring your attention to the sounds entering your ears as an anchor for your attention.
Stay here until the timer ends, then thank yourself and resume your work slowly.

All that you touch
You Change.All that you Change
Changes you.The only lasting truth
Is Change.God
Is Change.— Octavia E. Butler
