Take Five 🌳 #3
A Moment of Mindfulness for Busy (and Not-So Busy) People
In this new regular feature, I’ll share a brief wisdom teaching from Buddhism, contemporary culture or other traditions and you can use it to take a brief mindful break whenever you need it.
I’ve delightedly watched today’s video many times! I hope it will inspire you as much it does me, because I truly believe it’s what the world needs now.
Before you begin, please follow the Take Five mindful instructions:
Set a timer for five minutes.
Watch and listen to the video, then close your computer screen.
Stop engaging with your devices.
Sit quietly with your eyes closed or your gaze lowered. Bring your attention to the sounds entering your ears as an anchor for your attention.
Stay here until the timer ends, then thank yourself and resume your work slowly.

Hey bro, are you still love?
I just planted milkweed seeds, with the intention to support monarch butterflies in their annual migration across the United States. When they sprout I’ll plant them in our garden because milkweed is the only plant their caterpillars will eat! You can order free seeds from Live Monarch and learn more about these amazing creatures at Monarch Watch.
If you have suggestions for a Take Five teaching, please share with me by replying to this email.
Our next Steady, Calm, and Brave Zoom meditation is next week, Monday, April 13, 9-9:30pm EST! Learn more here.
I’m leading a weekly meditation group at Maitri Yoga in downtown Troy NY. If you or someone you know lives in the Capital Region, please join me on Wednesday nights! All the deets are here. It’s really wonderful to be together again in-person!
Metta+++,
Kim✨
