I often fear I'm the fish on the camel's back, either in search of adventure or not realizing I've moved into a place or situation I don't belong. Could it be that the camel is taking a swim sometimes, and doesn't mind a fish's company for a bit?? The space between belonging or connection and separation or interference can be a bridge or a gulf.
That's an interesting insight - sometimes the space is useful and open and constructive. And other times it's distancing and destructive. Mindfulness can keep you aware of which it is so you can make useful and wise decisions for what to do (or not do). Blessings for your practice, Pam.
Oh a topic that I have worked hard on and still struggle with. I have been told to talk to yourself like you would a friend. I am not a good friend to myself too often.
Yes, it's a struggle for sure! I hope for you and all of us to be able to know we have more than one voice, so we can talk to our critical voice with kindness and compassion instead of hating it or trying to get rid of it (which is what I sometimes do). Big hugs! Thanks for being here!
