It’s April, so we’re beginning a new theme — Welcoming Worry and Anxiety. If you’re like me, you might feel unsteady in this moment of unexpected surprises and upheaval, or perhaps you’re experiencing loss and change in your own life, or maybe just feeling uncertain about what might happen next. So for the next four weeks, we’re going to practice developing our courage, diligence, and compassion, so we can wisely meet these transitions and shifts with clarity and good sense, for ourselves and everyone else.
We’ll be taking our inspiration from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of dharmapalas — truth protectors — powerful deities that dispel the suffering mind states of hatred, fear, greed, and delusion which obscure our clear nature. We’ll cultivate our own courageous and fierce energy to keep our feet firm and our hearts open no matter what is happening.
Plan to listen and practice everyday, and use the exercises and contemplative prompts to support your efforts. The intention of this newsletter is to help you take care of yourself, so be careful and mindful—if you need to rest or take a break, don’t be afraid to do so. Check in with our community and ask questions in our chat!
